Be sure to leave a little comment if you enjoyed seeing my pals.
These deer are so beautiful and show such expression when they look at you. When you go outside they appear out of no where. As you can see they are quite different from our ordinary Texas Hill Country deer. They are much larger and the spots remain and have a heavier body with excellent horn mass. We don't feed them but some of our neighbors leave corn tortillas out for them, which they love.
I thought you would enjoy seeing some of my pet Axis deer that hang out at our house.
Enjoy!

Hey Carl,
Nice pictures -- you're really enjoying that new camera, aren't you.
Judi: I am still learning. There are sure lots of things that little camera can do, would't think something this small could have so many advantages. It seem to take a long time to upload my pictures when I write my reports. I need to figure out how to put arrows in so I can point to specific items when I want to draw attention to that item. I hope I can have time tomorrow to play around with it.
Thanks Judi, I really appreciate your help. We did have fun with Jimmy.
What software are you using to write your reports. Identify it and I'll bet there's someone here who can help you with the arrows, etc.
Let us know.
Thanks Michael: I'll give it a try. I use Whisper for my reports and may have it downloaded but was not aware of it. Will give it a go first chance I get.
By the way I put on a blog referencing Labor Day and thoughts for military and families for this upcoming holiday. I thought about your son when I put it on. Hope all is going well.
Also put another blog on referencing 9/ll encouraging everyone to please fly the American Flag.

I love the pictures Carl.
I realize that many people enjoy the sport of hunting and that in todays world, where there are less and less natural predators, thinning the herd is necessary. I especially don't have a problem with hunting if the meat is being used to feed a family.
I do have a problem with hunters that hunt for the sake of the trophy alone. I always wanted land that had an abundance of wildlife on it. I would put out food for the animals in the winter and the only shooting that would be allowed would be with a camera.
Steven: We really enjoy watching our wildlife. My wife said she saw a gray fox run across the road yesterday. I could not imagine us living in the city.
We do hunt down in South Texas, really just a place to gather with the family. If game is taken, whether birds or deer the meat is always used either by the family or given to an organization that will utilize the meat.
Here at home we are overrun with deer. The game and wildlife folks may have to do some thinning. It's getting to the point where it is a danger to driver's and causing accidents.
